News Flash! This Sunday

Birthday-GirlNews Flash!
Chrissi & Robin are going to be in the neighbourhood over this coming weekend, so if you fancy catching up with them, they will be at the Fishermans Cot, Bickleigh, Tiverton EX16 8RW around 11.30 – Twelve O’clock ish on Sunday 06th March, ready to take in some of those lovely roads around Crediton and Winkleigh with the ol’ P.B. crew, as we head back to Plymouth.
Do let Dave know if you would be up for leading the way up to Bickleigh from Plymouth, and he will post the meeting time and place on the website, or you can just make your own way up and meet us there.
It will be great to ride out together with Chrissi & Rob again and catch up on their news – it’s not the same without them 🙁

If we know a group or people are coming up from Plymouth we will wait there for you.

Update first ride of the year 2016

January 10th 2016 the first ride of the year for our biker group. Great to see the old crew out, some with new machines. Pete with his new white Triumph Tiger XC, nice. Also Jo, yes Jo back riding again after her nasty accident, its fantastic to see her out riding her new Honda NC750 DCT. Navigation was in the hands of Graham and Julie who came up with a fab 100 mile route. Sweepers for the day first half Pete then in the afternoon Stu. Dave me let my bike have a lie-down in Totnes 🙂 no damage, Pete lost 14 bikers 🙂 probably the joy of that new bike, but all was well as we meet up at Widecombe-in-the-Moor for luch. All the gang in good spirits and just glad to have some dry weather and enjoy a good motorcycle ride.

Santas on a bike charity Ride

Santas on a bike charity fun ride is this Saturday 5th December.
I’d like to send a notification to our bikers that this fab fun event is happening this coming Saturday. It’s being lead by the Bikers from the Plymouth Advanced Motorcycle Club whom I know a lot of us are members, the ride is from Lee Mill Industrial Estate to Little Harbour, St Austell, in support of Children’s Hospice SW.

The ride starts at 10.30 am, route to St Austell via Ivybridge, Saltash and Liskeard. Staff at the Little Harbour Children’s hospice will greet us on arrival with hot drinks and soup.

So If you’re free and the weather holds out then why not come and put a bit of money in the bucket and ride out to support the Children’s Hospice SW.

NOTE: some bikers are meeting at Tamar Bridge car park Plymouth side to join in the ride as they pass.

Below is a pic and vid of the sort of fun we had on this ride in 2013.

Sunday Ride-out R U with me.

20 bikers, a great day, great route, great food. Again many roads I’ve not ridden before so a big thank you to Graham & Julie for the navigation.

It was good to have this fun bunch of bikers with me for the 130 mile Sunday ride-out.
Very much missing our friends Chris & Robin who have now left the area after biking with us for 4 years, its weird not to see them out.

Welcome to our new friends who rode with us Chris, Sam, Kay and Michael.

Dot rode pillion while awaiting her awesome masters of torque MT07. You may well see her on it next time, she is always responsible for some great video shots that enable our video diary to be kept updated..

Remember our next ride-out is during the day of Friday August 21st with Rob and Freddie Flinttoff, Lord of the Fries. Details to be confirmed but id like to make a day of it. Meet up in the morning some place, have breakfast, meet up and do a bit of filming with Freddie and Rob, then grab some more nice roads and a coffee stop on the way home.

Also a full day ride out Sunday 23rd August so something to think about.

Lazy Sunday Ride Update

Lazy-SundayThe ride out on the 14th had great support from our bikers with a whole range of machines. Dot and I only came out for the morning stop so my story, pIctures and Video are only from this part of the ride. But i do believe the whole day was enjoyable. The weather was good to us and we were joined by 3 new faces to the group Derek & Maria, riding a Kawasaki ZZR 1400 and Steve on his Kawasaki Z1000 welcome to you. The Big Bmw’s, Harley Davidson’s, Triumph, Honda, Yamaha. Chrissie done a fantastic job reserving 8 tables in the sunshine at our breakfast stop, they even put out the colourful bunting for us at The Riverside Cafe Steamer Quay, Totnes. They do a fantastic breakfast so worth noting for future runs. Robin done a great job setting a lazy pace for the bikers, Matt joined us from Dartmouth, Nice to see Dave on his Bmw again, Great to see Steve, on his VFR, Clive and Yvonne on the new Triumph, and all our other biker friends who joined us on this day. I for one look forward to our next ride out on the 28th June.

Pics and video available of the morning part of the ride. Thank you.

Sunday 24th level 3 Motorbike ride-out

Screen Shot 2015-05-17 at 08.01.45Robin Carr has kindly come forward to navigate us on a fantastic route for the coming Sunday.
“Regarding the route I’m not at all familiar with Woolacombe area so not sure about the roads
a voyage of discovery! Level 3
I have sussed out a little cafe on the Upper Tamar Lake which would accommodate us
small cooked brekkie and drink £4.50.
They open at 10.30 and would like to see us!
The less adventurous riders may like to call it a day here and pick their way back.
We head across country to Torrington. Do the ‘dipper’ road then join A361 to Barnstaple.
Join the A39 out of Barnstaple and quickly take the B3230 via Muddiford to join the A3123
where we head West to Woolacombe via B3343.
Lunch at the Boardwalk Hotel on the seafront. I’ve talked to the car park people and as long
as there aren’t too many bikes we can pull into
a parking place free (just by the barrier). There are seats outside or they would reserve a
table inside if we want. You can Google the menu – a bit pricy but
won’t need much after a cooked brekkie!
Coming back I wondered about the A3123 followed by A399 back to South Molton.
Don’t know the roads so unsure whether they’ll be busy.
Smaller roads we know lead us back – we could either have afternoon tea at Garden Centre Eggesford or
Zukis at Winkleigh?”
P.S Please remember to mark the junctions for your fellow riders.
Also if you know a great route and would like to come forward let me know. you set your own pace, eat and drink at your favourite spots.

Tiger Jo’s Sunday Motorbike ride-out

lynmouthTiger Jo is leading the Plymouth Bikers on a fantastic route this coming sunday 9th November 2014.
Meeting Sainsburies 9am with full tanks leaving by 9:30 for the 180 mile round trip to Lynmouth. Travelling via Yelverton – Mortenhamstead – Exeter, with the 1st stop for coffee & cake at Bickleigh Mill. On to Tiverton & Porlock, arriving in Lynmouth for lunch. Depending on the weather there are several options for the homeward journey & due to the distance and shortened daylight hours this trip will be a level 3 ride, which is explained here. www.plymouthbikers.co.uk/useful-information

Ride Level 3 this is covering some distance so we need to be progressive. But as always plenty of time for talk and banter over the coffee and lunch stops. enjoy.
